Company Activities and Impact The year 2024-2025 saw the completion of the roof replacement along the extension including professional containment and treatment of Asbestos, Flameworks now has an Asbestos register. Noah Taylor, Peter Reeves, Bonnie Mustoe-Whitehill, and Chris Parkes stepped down as directors during the course of the year and Luke Axworthy has joined Belinda Read and Alice Wood to create a small and strong team of directors. Directors have been meeting regularly at least once a month. Flameworks increased rents to studio holders across the board by increasing the user fee to cover the cost of taking out a private loan to finance the professional removal and treatment of the asbestos. Flameworks is currently operating with two members working one day a week to cover the banking duties, pay invoices, manage the associate membership, the website and social media presence and long term strategic development. Flameworks are still actively taking part in creative opportunities for our members such as Devon Open Studios and Flameworks Open Days including a seconds' sale in February which was very successful for both our studio holders and associate members. Our course offer on the website has expanded in the last year to include another six artists offering sessions in a variety of disciplines. We are still partnered with Real Art Make Print, we provide support at their public events such as Native Makers in the form of live demonstrations. We have continued to improve the building for energy efficiency, the gas connection has been completely removed, and all the lighting in the building has now been replaced with energy efficient LEDs etc. There has been a continued effort to keep communal spaces within Flameworks clean and clear of excess materials to maintain a safe environment.
