In this accounting period, the fixed assets investments were reduced to the costs incurred to design and upload the company website. Most design was made by voluntary personnel, however investments were made in various costs such as hosting, membership and other.
CRIJT has started from humble beginnings but has delivered a few benefits: 1) It has delivered pro-bono educational services on the circular economy for Friends of the Earth ( a sustainability charity) in their Green Week event in Watford. The event was visited by local residents and businesses; 2) it has delivered pro-bono educational services to the doctoral students of Birkbeck University, helping them to deliver their understanding of just transitions (transitioning to a sustainable society and economy should not leave anyone behind); 3) It has delivered advice to aspiring doctoral students, 3 of which managed to access doctoral studies. For one of these students, CRIJT mediated for the student to gain a scholarship from the Petroleum Technology Development Fund. CRIJT has not benefited financially but one of the directors, Dr Maurizio Catulli, is the Principal Supervisor of the student at a university. The PhD focused on implementation of circular economy principles in the oil industry. 4) CRIJT delivered paid for educational services to a company specialized in access control. The benefit is that management and staff gained a sophisticated understanding of the principles of the circular economy and can implement them; 5) CRIJT delivered paid for educational services to an Irish educational institute specialising in sustainability. The topics were just transitions and the circular economy. 6) CRIJT delivered pro-bono coaching to a private university to ensure their teaching staff can build the topic of sustainability in their curriculum. 7) CRIJT has sponsored and conducted research in sustainable transport as used by disadvantaged people. The outcomes of this research have been disseminated through 3 peer reviewed publications, a white paper and several webinars, which can be accessed through www.crijt.org. CRIJT is happy to have contributed to knowledge and understanding of just transition to a sustainable economy and society.
The founding director, Dr Maurizio Catulli, has consulted with: - Friends of the Earth, a charity - with the branch of Watford and its officers; - Local community in Watford - Aspiring doctoral students in sustainability - Academics at the Open University - A researcher on the disadvantages encountered by delivery drivers on zero hour contracts - A number of individuals who have served CRIJT in voluntary capacity. One of these individuals has been elected a voluntary director of CRIJT.
