During this financial year, Whamos Training and Development CIC delivered inclusive, accessible training programmes and workshops designed to support people across South Cumbria to gain confidence, qualifications, and employability skills. Our main activities included: Functional Skills in English and Maths (Entry Level to Level 2) Accredited First Aid courses (Level 3 First Aid at Work, Emergency First Aid, Paediatric, and Sports) Level 2 Food Safety Essential Digital Skills and Microsoft Office 365 training Media production and 3D printing workshops Tailored support for neurodivergent learners and individuals furthest from the labour market These activities have benefited the community by improving access to training for those facing social, economic, or learning barriers. We work closely with local schools, Shackles Off, Shine for Autism, and Millom Town Council to create opportunities for both young people and adults to gain skills for work, education, and daily life. Our work directly addresses local issues such as digital exclusion, low confidence, and limited employment opportunities. Through small group learning and practical workshops, we’ve helped learners gain recognised qualifications and develop the confidence to progress toward further education or employment.
Whamos Training and Development CIC actively engages with a range of community stakeholders to shape its activities and respond to local needs. Key stakeholders include: Local Schools (junior and secondary) – collaborating on functional skills, media, and digital learning sessions. Shackles Off – providing creative and vocational workshops for young people at risk of exclusion. Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) – offering one-to-one support and training space for learners unable to attend mainstream education. Millom Town Council – working together on community projects that improve wellbeing and learning access. Shine for Autism – running interest-led, confidence-building workshops for neurodiverse children and families. Consultations take place through regular meetings, feedback forms, and ongoing dialogue with staff, learners, and partner organisations. As a result of this feedback, we’ve adapted course delivery times, expanded digital training, and introduced creative workshops such as 3D printing to engage learners with different needs and interests.
The aggregate amount of emoluments paid to or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services during the year was £2,688. There were no other transactions, arrangements, or compensation payments relating to directors’ remuneration or loss of office requiring disclosure.
