Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 31 January 2025 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    A strong depreciation policy states the measurement basis (cost or revaluation), depreciation method, useful lives or rates by asset class, treatment of residual values and subsequent expenditure, componentisation approach, commencement/cessation rules, impairment review, and the required disclosures.

3. Fixed assets investments note

Tangible fixed assets: a capital grant of £6,000 was received during the year in respect of equipment for the African Oasis project. The grant has been deducted from the cost of the related asset and the net amount is being depreciated on a straight-line basis over 5 years.

Company activities and impact

The funds from the Chirewood Grant and Loughborough Council have been diligently utilized to support various workshops and infrastructure development within the Shelthorpe Community Garden. Here is a breakdown of the expenditure incurred during the first quarter of 2024 The financial resources provided by the Charnwood Borough Council Community Grant and the Shires Grant have been instrumental in advancing the objectives of the Shelthorpe Community Garden project. We have made significant progress in organizing workshops, establishing essential infrastructure, and fostering community participation. As we move forward, we remain committed to transparency and accountability in financial management. We appreciate the support and trust bestowed upon us by the Charnwood Grant and the Shires Community Grant, and we are dedicated to maximizing the impact of every pound invested in our shared vision of sustainable community development.
