COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

SOUTH COAST BALLET CIC

Year Ending: 31 January 2025

Company activities and impact

We produced a ballet production in a local theatre. This gave the opportunity to young ballet students from the local area to experience performing in a professional setting close to their home. This cut down on travel time for dancers and their families. We were able to offer subsidised places in our production to dancers from low-income families who might not be able to afford such experiences otherwise. We used local small businesses for costume design and making, prop design and construction and programme design. We set our ticket prices as low as we can, purely to cover costs, so local theatre and ballet fans can experience live theatre, something that is getting increasingly expensive to do so. We also offered special ticket prices for families to enable children the opportunity to watch live performances at a lower cost.
