Elysium Creative Arts CIC uses live and performing arts to reach communities, schools and higher education. Our ambitious theatre and online work, as well as our engagement work, promotes access to the arts, literature and ideas, improving educational standards, literacy, oracy, community pride, cultural engagement and moral and spiritual inspiration. This year we produced two highly successful theatre tours, Shakespeare's 'Othello' and the world premiere of Paul Herzberg's 'The Moth' that reached 19 and 23 venues across the North respectively. Both played to capacity audiences. 'Othello' was attended by 37 school and youth groups across the North from Lancaster and Ormskirk to Newcastle and Leeds. Our schools' Engagement programme, 'Shakespeare For All', provided workshops and access to Shakespeare to 50 schools. We established ourselves as the only company providing access to Shakespeare across the North on this scale, meeting a need that is sorely lacking for schools and young people. 'The Moth' provided support and engagement for Veterans and victims of racism, as well as providing insight and an opportunity to talk for for populations seeking to address issues of racism, discrimination, trauma, conflict and alienation. Several schools attended and engaged in stimulating discussion. In short, our work continues to provide social , educational and cultural inspiritation to communities, schools and HE across the North.
