Company activities and impact

Warrior Women Project CIC provides therapy-informed, non-contact boxing and movement programmes designed to support the emotional, physical and psychological wellbeing of women and those who identify as women. Our activities combine physical exercise with therapeutic principles drawn from psychology and trauma-informed practice, creating a safe and empowering space for personal growth and recovery. During the year, we have delivered group workshops and courses, including our Find Your Inner Warrior and The Power Within programmes, across North Devon, Exeter and Bristol. These sessions integrate non-contact boxing, psychoeducation, and reflective exercises to help participants build confidence, regulate their nervous systems, and reconnect with their bodies in a positive way. We also partnered with community organisations supporting women affected by trauma, domestic abuse, and sexual violence, such as Encompass Southwest, to deliver accessible, trauma-informed wellbeing sessions for their service users. Group sizes were kept small to ensure a safe and supportive environment, with an emphasis on inclusion, respect, and empowerment. Warrior Women Project CIC has made a meaningful impact by improving confidence, emotional regulation, and overall wellbeing among participants. Feedback from women taking part in our programmes shows increased self-esteem, greater ability to manage stress and anxiety, and a renewed sense of empowerment and connection. Our trauma-informed approach has enabled survivors of abuse and other adversities to engage in physical activity in a safe and supported way, often helping them rebuild trust in their bodies and rediscover personal strength. We have also fostered community and peer connection through our group-based model, reducing isolation and creating ongoing networks of support. Through these activities, we continue to promote the values of empowerment, inclusion, and holistic wellbeing, aligning our work with the wider social goal of improving women’s mental health and resilience within our communities.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s main stakeholders include: 1. Participants who attend Warrior Women Project programmes, workshops and courses. 2. Community partners and referral organisations, such as Encompass Southwest and other local charities supporting women affected by trauma, abuse, or disadvantage. 3. Local wellbeing professionals, including psychologists, coaches, and support workers who collaborate with or refer clients to the project. 4. Funders, commissioners, and local authorities who provide financial and strategic support for the organisation’s activities. 5. Staff, facilitators, and volunteers who contribute to programme delivery and the ongoing development of the organisation’s trauma-informed approach. Warrior Women Project CIC maintains continuous engagement with its stakeholders through a variety of consultation methods, including: 1. Participant feedback forms and reflective evaluations completed after each course or workshop, gathering both quantitative and qualitative feedback. 2. Facilitated discussions and focus groups within sessions to explore what participants find most beneficial and to identify areas for improvement. 3. Regular partnership meetings with referral organisations to review service alignment, share outcomes, and co-develop new programme content where appropriate. 4. Staff and volunteer debrief sessions, encouraging reflective practice and sharing of learning from service delivery. 5. Online surveys and social media engagement, providing opportunities for broader community input and ideas. As a direct result of consultation and feedback received during the year, Warrior Women Project CIC has: 1. Enhanced programme content to include more emphasis on self-regulation, boundary-setting, and confidence-building activities. 2. Introduced a “pay-what-you-can” pricing structure for selected sessions to make services more accessible to women on low incomes. 3. Reduced maximum group sizes to ensure sessions remain safe, supportive, and trauma-informed. 4. Expanded community partnerships to reach women who might otherwise face barriers to accessing wellbeing services. 5. Invested in facilitator development, ensuring consistent delivery of trauma-informed and psychologically safe practices. 6. Developed online and hybrid delivery models, responding to participant feedback regarding accessibility and geographical limitations. Summary Through ongoing consultation and collaboration with participants, partners, and practitioners, Warrior Women Project CIC continues to refine and strengthen its trauma-informed wellbeing services. The organisation’s commitment to active listening and co-creation ensures that its programmes remain inclusive, effective, and responsive to the evolving needs of the women and communities it serves.
