Principal activities of the company

The objective of North Road Community Centre CIC is to offer the community a secure, accessible and safe space for local organisations to deliver social activiti es, cultural gatherings, training and upski lling programs in tum that will help improve the living standards of the local community which will enable them to thrive. As a result of the cost of living crisis the aim of the Company is to provide support and deliver a range of activities which responds to the needs of underrepresented communities across the borough who have been overlooked and help bridge the gap of isolation, food poverty, health and wellbeing in the community.

Company activities and impact

During the financial year ending 31st January 2025 North Road Community Centre CIC continued its mission to provide accessible, inclusive and supportive services to the local community. Our activities focused on promoting social wellbeing, community engagement as well as educational, training initiatives for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Community Support Hosted monthly health and wellbeing check-ups for local residents - 150 people. Provided training and upskilling opportunities for carers, preparing them for roles in the health care sector. (100 recruits) Education Delivered a range of training programmes designed to enhance skills and employability. (500 people) Ran family and children’s cooking classes to encourage healthy eating and strengthen family bonds with over 200 families. Elderly Social Inclusion Organised weekly social gatherings to over 200 older adults to reduce isolation and improve quality of life. Community Engagement Operated a community food bank, supporting over 150 clients. Distributed more than 800 emergency food parcels to vulnerable families in need. Events and Cultural Activities Hosted cultural programmes and community celebrations to promote cohesion, inclusion, and unity among residents. Over 500 people participated.

Consultation with stakeholders

The variety of services we provide is focussed on two way conversations and even though informal we do tailor the services to the communities needs from the feedback of our hirers and the initiatives we have delivered. Having served over 500+ people and families over the year we are very aware of the critical needs of the recipients and planned more initiatives in the future. We have applied for grants and awaiting feedback.
