Company activities and impact

Opera Greenwich has impacted the local community in the financial year through increasing access of opera in the local area at an affordable rate, promoting young singers from the area and ensuring community involvement. Increasing access of opera - 1x free recital at St Alfege church, 1x free opera insight at St Alfege Church, affordable production of La Boheme at the church with pay-it-forward tickets for those unable to purchase. 2x concerts in partnership with the Greenwich Theatre at an affordable rate, with young singers from across the area. Offering the local community, in particular those with limited means or access to the art form, a chance to experience opera and classical music Promoting young singers - 2x concerts at the Greenwich Theatre promoting local talent, the commencement of an emerging artists programme: workshops subsidised by Greenwich Theatre and at the directors' expense to culture and develop young artists and share their work with the community. Ensuring community involvement - community chorus development with a small chorus for La Boheme made up of a diverse range of members of the local area - performing at St Alfege Church. Community chorus opportunity for performance at Christmas as part of a Christmas gala at Greenwich Theatre. Improving wellbeing, community cohesion and social opportunity.
