The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 30 June 2025
Additional information
Statement of Directors' Responsibilities The directors are responsible for preparing the Directors' Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations. Company law requires the directors to prepare financial statements for each financial year. Under that law the directors have elected to prepare the financial statements in accordance with United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable law). Under company law the directors must not approve the financial statements unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company and of the profit or loss of the company for that period. In preparing the financial statements the directors are required to: select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; make judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent; prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the company will continue in business. The directors are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the company's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the company and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. The directors are responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the corporate and financial information included on the company's website. Legislation in the United Kingdom governing the preparation and dissemination of financial statements may differ from legislation in other jurisdictions. Small Company Rules This report has been prepared in accordance with the special provisions relating to companies subject to the small companies regime within Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006.

During this financial year, LION Culture Initiative CIC has continued to deliver and expand its community programmes focused on improving men’s physical, mental, and social wellbeing across Liverpool and the wider Merseyside region. Our flagship project, the Men’s Performance Programme, has operated from two locations: Elev8 Performance Gym (North Liverpool), providing weekly strength and condition-ing sessions, group discussions, and peer support. Cinetico Fitness / Halewood Boxing Club (South Liverpool), delivering boxing and circuit training sessions to develop resilience, discipline, and connection. Each session is completely free of charge and open to all men, regardless of background or ability. The sessions combine physical activity with structured conversations around mental health, identity, and purpose, helping participants build confidence, routine, and accounta-bility. Beyond training, we’ve introduced regular group walks, cold-water recovery sessions, and social events, providing safe spaces where men can talk openly about their challenges. The initiative has also partnered with local businesses, veteran networks, and health agencies to signpost participants to further support, including employment, mental health services, and community networks. The impact includes: Increased confidence, motivation, and social engagement among participants Improved physical and mental wellbeing outcomes Strengthened local community bonds and male support networks Reduced isolation among working-age and veteran men across Merseyside.
Our stakeholders include: Men participating in the programme Local community partners (Elev8 Performance Gym, Cinetico Fitness, and others) Health, wellbeing, and veteran support agencies Local sponsors and small businesses supporting delivery We consult regularly through informal feedback sessions after classes, WhatsApp groups, and short participant surveys. Feedback is discussed monthly within the LION Culture Initia-tive team and used to adapt the structure, intensity, and focus of sessions. This year, stakeholder feedback directly led to: The expansion of sessions to South Liverpool following community demand Introduction of a social coffee and chat element after training Inclusion of signposting to external support agencies Adjustments to session times to improve accessibility
