Balance sheet statements

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover represents grant income receivable for research and development activities undertaken by the company. Grant income is recognised over the period in which the related work is performed. Income received in advance of project delivery is deferred and recognised in future accounting periods when the corresponding activity takes place. The funding received from Innovate UK during the period relates to an R&D project running from October 2024 to February 2025, with the unearned portion shown as deferred income at the balance sheet date.

Company activities and impact

The company’s activities and impact During the financial year, EngageArts CIC focused primarily on research and development within the fields of creative technology, inclusive music education, and digital innovation. Our work explored the integration of AI and ethical technology into music learning and cultural heritage preservation, with a particular emphasis on accessibility for neurodivergent, deaf, and underrepresented communities. Through feasibility studies, stakeholder consultations, and partnership-building activities, EngageArts has laid the groundwork for future programmes that will expand creative opportunities, promote diversity in the arts, and strengthen community engagement through technology-driven inclusion.

Consultation with stakeholders

Consultation with stakeholders during the financial year included discussions with partner organisations, educators, artists, and community representatives to inform research and development priorities, ensure inclusivity, and align EngageArts CIC’s projects with community and industry needs.

Directors' remuneration

During the financial year, the director received £20000 in remuneration for ongoing research and development activities.
