Balance sheet statements

Company activities and impact

STAND - Tourette’s, Autism, and Neurodiversity CIC continues to advance its mission of creating a more inclusive, understanding, and supportive society for neurodivergent individuals. During the financial year covered by this report, the company’s work has delivered meaningful benefits to the community in several ways: Empowerment and Support: STAND has served as a important support nextwork for individuals living with Tourette’s Syndrome, Autism, ADHD, and related neurodevelopmental conditions. By offering guidance, peer connection, and advocacy, we have helped individuals feel seen, valued, and supported in environments that often fail to accommodate their needs. Education and Awareness: Through talks, community events, and online initiatives, STAND has raised public awareness about neurodiversity, challenging stigma and misinformation. These educational efforts have reached families, educators, and employers, promoting empathy, inclusion, and better understanding of neurodivergent experiences. Capacity Building for Families and Caregivers: Recognising the vital role of families and carers, STAND has provided advice and emotional support to help them navigate healthcare, education, and social systems more effectively. This has improved family well-being and resilience within the neurodivergent community. Digital Outreach and Accessibility: Recognising the barriers many neurodivergent individuals face in accessing in-person support, STAND has tried to expand its online presence to deliver digital resources, webinars, and community support sessions. This approach has widened access to individuals across different regions and backgrounds. Advocacy and Representation: STAND has continued to represent the voices of neurodivergent people in local and national discussions, contributing to policy conversations around equality, accessibility, and neuroinclusion.

Consultation with stakeholders

STAND - Tourette's, Autism, and Neurodiversity CIC recognizes the importance of engaging with its stakeholders to ensure that its activities align with the needs and preferences of the neurodiverse community and the broader public. The primary stakeholders of our CIC include: Neurodiverse Individuals and Their Families, Community Organizations, Supporters and Volunteers. Consultation with Stakeholders: STAND has engaged with its stakeholders through various methods, including: Surveys and Feedback Forms: STAND has conducted surveys and distributed feedback forms through our website (the-stand.org) and after our event. These tools have allowed us to gather valuable input from the neurodiverse community and our supporters. Participation in Public Meetings: STAND representatives have actively participated in public meetings and discussions related to neurodiversity issues, advocating for policies and practices that benefit the community STAND is committed to acting upon feedback from its stakeholders to enhance its impact and effectiveness. Some actions taken in response to feedback include: Tailored Programs and Services: Based on input from neurodiverse individuals and their families, we have developed and customized programs and services to better address their unique needs. Advocacy and Policy Influence: We have used feedback from our stakeholders to inform our advocacy efforts, advocating for policies and practices that promote neurodiversity acceptance and inclusion in the community.
