Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 30 April 2025 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover comprises the invoiced value of goods and services supplied by the company plus grants received, net of Value Added Tax (where VAT registered) and trade discounts.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible fixed assets, other than freehold land, are stated at cost or valuation less depreciation and any provision for impairment. Company activities and impact

The company’s activities provide a digital equipment library and skills hub to benefit digitally excluded people and communities in Plymouth, UK . We focus our support on those who experience digital exclusion which includes school/home school children, those out of work seeking work or looking to upskill, refugees and asylum seekers, health care patients and older adults. We have run the following activities: 1) A Digital equipment library and hub The Greenhouse Hub is a digital equipment library that gives people free access without them having to purchase them. This is located in a physical hub within the local community where equipment such as computers, 3D fabrication and immersive technology are freely available to use. This aims to address the digital divide which currently results in unequal access to digital skills and technology. We have also distributed over 30 refurbished laptops from Borrow Don’t Buy to asylum seekers and refugees in digital poverty. 2) Group and one to one digital skills training We provide free or at cost digital skills training to enable people to gain access to work, to study or to supporting community activities and bring social impact. The individuals we support includes local so-cial enterprises, school/home school children, those seeking work or looking to upskill, refugees and asylum seekers, health care patients and older adults. We run the following sessions: a. Weekly digital skills sessions with Asylum seekers and refugees in collaboration with Devon and Cornwall Refugee Service. We have received funding through the Plymouth City Council changing futures programme to run the digital skills sessions with Devon and Cornwall Refugee Service b. Weekly Digital skills sessions for home educated children at the Plot, Union Street c. 8 week courses in advanced digital skills for those not in education or employment as a path-way to education or employment at the Plot, Union Street together with Oncourse SW. 3) Provide volunteering, mentoring and apprenticeship opportunities We give people the opportunity to gain volunteering skills and support with obtaining internships, setting up social enterprise and accessing employment. This aims to help break down barriers, develop social skills, improve overall awareness and give work skills. We have trained 6 volunteers in the last 12 months. We have also enabled the volunteers to attend volunteer training through the Volunteer Passport Digital Badge programme.

Consultation with stakeholders

The stakeholders are as follows 1) Community organisations that support people who are excluded 2) Devon and Cornwall Refugee Service 3) Borrow Don’t Buy 4) Home educated children and their parents 5) Plymouth City Council Digital Inclusion team 6) Oncourse SW 7) General public (particularly those experiencing digital exclusion) How we have consulted: We have - run interviews and focus groups with the organisations to understand their needs. - This includes speaking with over 30 asylum seekers and 10 parents of home educated children. - We have run an online survey with Plymouth Community Homes of over 4000 homes in Plymouth to identify digital skills needs.
