The Yorubas of Nottingham Nottinghamshire CIC (YONN) is a community association which comprises of all the of Yorubas in Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County including the working class, students, and all adults irrespective of gender, or religion interests. During the financial year ending 31st August 2025, YONN engaged in the following activities and thereby benefited the community in various ways: 1. The association continued its membership drive as more new members joined the association as registered members. 2. The association collaborated with other community organisations to organise JEUNSOKE programme during which essential commodities and food stuffs were giving free to its members and the less privileged individuals in the community. 3. The association organised the yearly ASA Day Cultural Celebration. 4. The association incorporated into the ASA Day Programme the children educational programme known as Yoruba Academy (AKOMOLEDE) to teach the children and young adults the culture, language, values and customs of Yoruba, which they demonstrated at the ASA day Programme. 5. The association planned for some seminars to educate its members and the public on various issues and topics which included Immigration, Mental Health, Insurance, etc. 6. The association collaborated with other community action groups dedicating to protecting the Nottingham community from street crime and violence. 7. The association collaborated with educational institutions including the University of Nottingham on heritage language/supplementary school network to teach Yoruba language and culture.
The stakeholders of the association are the Yoruba people living, working and/or studying in Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County towns. During the financial year ending 31st August 2025, the association held one face to face Annual General Meeting (AGM). During the year, registered members of the association submitted registration forms which provided information on their skills and personal/business interests. The information enabled the association to support its member-stakeholders to meet their personal and business needs and requirements. The association held the annual ASA Cultural Day Celebration during the financial year.
