In the year of 24-25 Roadblock fulfilled their community objects by: Providing professional events at low cost where we shared the joy of Bike power. Worked with over 40 partner organisations to build resilience and connection in our organising community. Coordinated and took part in events and projects with people from all backgrounds, especially focusing on Active Transport, Off-grid Power and Social Justice, and supporting inclusivity at all our events. We helped the community of Armley and New Wortley to build their own bike powered machine, the ‘Armley Roadblock’ a bike powered stage. This machine was built in partnership with 16 partner organisation and involved 1800 local people across the Ideation, Design, Fabrication, and now use of the invention. Event Names: Yorkshire Feminist Collective, Leeds Marathon, Armley Bike Project, Permaculture Festival, Quiet Pride, Becketts Park Picnic, Woodhouse Council Engagement, Gledhow Valley Woods, Northern Green Gathering, Apple Day, Yorkshire Marathon, Halloween Ride-around, Dixon’s Open Day, Christmas Ridearound, Ceilidh, University of Becketts Fashion, Royal Park Gardens Events, City Planning Event, Little London Community Day, Harehills Unity Day. Our events have reached over 30,000 people in this year, during the provision of our CAL Small grants project we provided events at a cost per head of £0.36 (36p), meaning that we were able to supply events at a substantial fraction of the cost of commercial organisations. All partners who we worked with have recommended us and in most cases we have been invited back already to collaborate at a deeper level.
We completed a full consultation with 2400 local people in Armley. We consulted with peers individuals and groups in Leeds to refine our service offer.
The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £1780. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
