COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

AMPTHILL MUSIC CIC

Company Number: 15593978 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 March 2025

Company activities and impact

During the financial year ended 31 March 2025, Ampthill Music CIC successfully delivered two major community music events: In July 2024, the Rewired one-day festival saw around a thousand people be entertained by nine local bands in the Hop Field in the middle of town. Then, in March 2025, Unwired featured a takeover of five pubs in Ampthill in order to have a sequence of acoustic acts play simultaneously. Both events were staffed and supported entirely by volunteers and relied heavily on the enthusiasm and participation of the local community. The events were well received and contributed positively to the cultural and social life of the town, providing a platform for emerging musicians and fostering community engagement through music.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s main stakeholders are local residents who may attend or be affected by an event. Other stakeholders include musicians who may want to perform, councillors who may support events whilst also ensuring that they are run safely, and volunteers who would like to be involved in the operation of an event. We are committed to community engagement and to ensure that our events are suitable for a town the size of Ampthill. For instance, ahead of Rewired, we leafletted approximately 200 houses around the proposed venue, to ensure they were aware, to describe our noise management plan, and to provide them a conduit to contact us in case of any issues. Following Rewired, we ran a “retrospective” and captured a number of actions to be taken into consideration at the next event such as ensuring that the running order would not put the loudest bands on last and ensuring that future premises licences would more generously cover the period of the event’s operation.
