COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

SOCIALISING ANGELS C.I.C.

Company Number: 13918837 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 28 January 2025

Company activities and impact

Our organisation provides young people aged 18 to 25 with learning disabilities, opportunities to take part in community-based activities similar to those their peers without disabilities do, such as going to meals, the cinema, bowling, walking, travelling, and creative projects. These activities help participants build friendships, improve communication, travel independence, money management, and confidence in everyday situations. Through practical experiences like using public transport, crossing roads safely, and ordering food, participants gain independence and social skills. The impact has been significant: young people have become more confident, less isolated, and more willing to try new experiences, while also forming meaningful friendships. Creative projects, including a photography project (2024-2025), have encouraged self-expression, teamwork, and engagement with the wider community. We also collaborated with a mental health organisation to provide an event for parents and carers, giving them an opportunity to connect, share experiences, and support the young people's friendships and social development. Overall, our activities enhance participants' independence, confidence, and social skills, while offering support and respite for families.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our main stakeholders are the young people who participate in our activities. They are actively consulted throughout, using a variety of methods tailored to their needs, including accessible feedback forms, group discussions, and hands-up surveys. This allows participants to express their preferences, share what they enjoy, and influence the planning of future activities, ensuring opportunities are engaging and meet their interests. We also consult with parents and carers through feedback forms, discussions, and collaborative sessions. Their input helps us understand what support their young people need, what skills they would like to develop, and what experiences would be most beneficial. This ensures that activities promote independence, confidence, and skill development while also supporting family needs.
