WOMEN RISE UP COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Directors' report period ended 31 March 2025

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 March 2025

Principal activities of the company

During the financial year 2024–2025, Women Rise Up CIC continued its mission to empower BAME women across Lancashire through inclusive, community-led programmes focused on wellbeing, leadership, and social connection. A key focus this year was the development and delivery of peer support groups and VR SOMA workshops, both shaped through meaningful consultation with stakeholders. The organisation engaged BAME widows and professional women in a series of listening sessions and co-design workshops. Their lived experiences and professional insights were instrumental in ensuring that the programmes were culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and relevant to the diverse needs of participants. The peer support groups offered safe, welcoming spaces for widows to share experiences, build confidence, and reduce isolation. The VR SOMA workshops in collaboration with Bristol University, co-created with BME women used immersive technology to support shift in thinking and leadership development. These activities reflect Women Rise Up CIC’s commitment to collaborative programme design and its ongoing dedication to addressing the unique challenges faced by BAME women in the region.
