In 2024–2025, Women Rise Up CIC empowered BAME women in Lancashire through: Access to Support: Over 20 women engaged in peer support sessions and explored leadership development using digital tools and research, helping them build confidence and new skills. Reducing Isolation: Regular peer-led community groups created safe spaces for women to connect, share experiences, and strengthen their sense of belonging.
In 2024–2025, Women Rise Up CIC actively engaged stakeholders in shaping its programmes to ensure they reflected the lived experiences and aspirations of BAME women in Lancashire. Consultation with BAME Widows and Professional Women: Through a series of listening circles and one-to-one interviews, BAME widows and professional women shared insights into the emotional, social, and practical challenges they face. Their input directly influenced the design of peer support groups, ensuring they were culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and inclusive of diverse life experiences. Co-Design of VR SOMA Workshops: A working group of community members, including tech-savvy professionals and women with lived experience of grief, anxiety, and isolation, collaborated with facilitators to shape the VR SOMA workshops. These immersive sessions were tailored to promote healing, mindfulness, and leadership development through virtual reality, making them accessible and relevant to participants’ needs. This collaborative approach ensured that Women Rise Up CIC’s services were not only empowering but also rooted in the voices of the women they serve.
