4. Loans to directors

Saghwat Hussain is a director of the company. During the year, the director provided loans of £Nil to the company. As at the balance sheet date, the company owed the director £9,500 (2023: £9,500) which is shown in Other Creditors due within one year. The above balance is payable on demand and therefore there are no significant differences between the value of the original loan amount and the initial carrying value of the loan as shown in the balance sheet. Saghwat Hussain is also a director of Vanguard Direct (Bham) Limited. During the year, the company transacted with Vanguard Direct (Bham) Limited for good and services for a net amount of £nil. As at the balance sheet date, the company was owed £291,964 (2023: £Nil) by Vanguard Direct (Bham) Limited, which is shown in Debtors due within one year. The above balance is payable on demand and therefore there are no significant differences between the value of the original loan amount and the initial carrying value of the loan as shown in the balance sheet. Saghwat Hussain is also a director of Firefield Fox Ltd. During the year, the company transacted with Firefield Fox Limited for good and services for a net amount of £nil. As at the balance sheet date, the company was owed £94,000 (2023: £Nil) by Firefield Fox Limited, which is shown in Debtors due within one year. The above balance is payable on demand and therefore there are no significant differences between the value of the original loan amount and the initial carrying value of the loan as shown in the balance sheet.

Company activities and impact

The company provides supported housing to vulnerable adults in Birmingham. During the period 1/12/23 to 30/11/24 the company has benefited the community by providing a safe and supported environment in which vulnerable homeless adults can seek refuge where barriers to independent living can be addressed.Vanguard has expanded it's property portfolio to accommodate and support more individuals in need, especially local individuals experiencing food poverty.

The company's stakeholders are the service users. Staff are in constant contact with them to ensure they are engaged in their journey and benefiting from all aspects of the service.
