Principal activities of the company

The principal activity of the community interest company during the period under review was to carry on activities that benefit the community and in particular (without limitation) to the inhabitants of Derbyshire Hill and the neighbourhood, by associating voluntary bodies and inhabitants in a common effort to provide facilities in the interest in social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of goods and from the rendering of services. Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods have transferred to the buyer. Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs.

    Other accounting policies

    Grants Revenue grants are recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities on receipt, subject to any required conditions being met or serviecs being provided. Capital grants are recognised on receipt in the Statement of Financial Activities. This policy has been adopted to give a true and fair view.

Company activities and impact

The principal activity of the community interest company during the period under review was to carry on activities that benefit the community and in particular (without limitation) to the inhabitants of Derbyshire Hill and the neighbourhood, by associating voluntary bodies and inhabitants in a common effort to provide facilities in the interest in social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation.

Consultation with stakeholders

Facilities and a safe environment has been provided to community groups in the Derbyshire Hill and surrounding neighbourhood, the stakeholders. This is to secure the establishments of a community allotment. The members of the board have consulted with all community groups, the stakeholders, to ensure this is being done.
