for the Period Ended 30 November 2024
During the financial year ending 30 November 2024, Poised2Excel CIC played a vital role in supporting the wellbeing and successful integration of migrant workers who arrived in the UK to work as carers. The organisation delivered a series of culturally informed workshops designed to ease settlement and reduce the challenges associated with culture shock. Key activities included: Financial Literacy Workshops – covering essential topics such as budgeting, understanding credit scores, and building and maintaining a positive credit history. These sessions equipped participants with the knowledge and confidence needed to manage their finances effectively in the UK. Parenting in the UK Sessions – helping families understand local education and support systems, expectations of parents, and the range of community networks available to them. Through these initiatives, Poised2Excel CIC fostered a supportive and inclusive environment in which migrant carers felt more informed, empowered, and connected. This work made a positive contribution to community cohesion across Gateshead and South Tyneside throughout the year.
The company’s stakeholders include residents and visitors of Wardley and the surrounding areas within Gateshead Borough. The directors maintain a strong connection to this catchment area, having lived and worked locally for many years. During the period under review, we undertook an extensive programme of stakeholder engagement. This began with wide-ranging research and was followed by targeted consultations with key groups, including members of the BAME community, parents, refugees and asylum seekers, and new arrivals to the area. We also engaged with local organisations such as the local authority and representatives of the business community. These consultations enabled us to gather valuable insights into community needs and priorities, ensuring that our work remains responsive, relevant, and aligned with the expectations of those we serve.
