For the year ending 30 November 2024 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

Company activities and impact

Heatherfield Heritage CIC seeks to preserve local heritage by taking on the ownership of historic items for preservation and running a number of small heritage craft events. Much of the CIC’s activities are carried out through donations of skills and time from people in the local area. Financial donations are limited, and work on obtaining grants has finally been able to begun following the opening of a Metro Bank account on Jan 8 2024 The following activities were carried out during the year Restoration Activities Work on Spindrift continued. Continued assisting owners of historic wooden narrowboat Linnet to maintain and preserve. Continued assisting the work on heritage boat Anson. Engaged in minor restoration works on historic narrowboat Apollo for her owner. Community Activities Participated in Heritage Open Days week with a video series on Preston Brook Wharf’s Heritage. Put on a display at Hatton Agricultural Show alongside Daresbury District Heritage Group and Cheshire Local History Society. Research carried out in Cheshire Archives to find historic information and photographs for Preston Brook Wharf. Continued working with Preston Brook Parish Council in recording and promoting the heritage and culture of Preston Brook in view of the continued application for conservation status. Worked with Cheshire Wildlife Trust and RECORD in recording wildlife on Preston Brook Wharf and the canal corridor. Other Activities Continued training young horse Samson in heritage working Began teaching coach painting to a select group of boat owners Began working with Halton Heritage Partnership

Consultation with stakeholders

Heatherfield CIC has consulted with the following stakeholders during the year The local and wider community has been engaged through the continued use of social media platforms and participation in Heritage open days and Hatton Agricultural show has continued to raise awareness by the local community of the rich history of the canal and surrounding area. Working alongside Preston Brook Parish Council with particular focus on the heritage and cultural value of Preston Brook and through consultation on developments.
