In the financial year, ZUFA Connects has undertaken several impactful initiatives in partnership with various organizations to address key issues within our community. These initiatives have created positive social and economic outcomes. HEAT HUG PROJECT (in partnership with Localgiving and National Grid Community Matters Fund): Provided warm packs including quilts, heavy blankets, thermal curtains and radiator bleed keys to vulnerable households. This helped reduce energy consumption and supported families with heating costs. Offered guidance on energy tariffs, cost saving measures, and available funding schemes. Benefited low income families, elderly individuals, and people facing financial hardship, improving their comfort, wellbeing and security. E and DNEC (Engaging and Developing New Emerging Communities) Project (in partnership with National Lottery Community Fund): Delivered free English language classes and job support to new and emerging communities, particularly individuals who do not speak English as a first language. Helped participants overcome language barriers, improve communication skills and access employment opportunities. Contributed to the social and economic development of Nottingham by promoting inclusion and equality. Community Project (in partnership with Good Things Foundation): Provided free SIM cards including unlimited UK calls and texts, international call minutes and mobile data to digitally excluded individuals. Helped bridge the digital divide by ensuring access to reliable internet connectivity. Supported people who were unable to afford internet contracts, reducing financial pressure and improving access to online services and resources. N and E Communities Programme 23/24 (in partnership with Nottingham Equal): Delivered a programme to improve English language proficiency among community members. Offered tailored English classes and additional support, resulting in significant improvements in participants language skills. Provided employment support including CV guidance and interview preparation, helping individuals progress into work and improve their socio economic position. Overall, our company has made a significant contribution to the community by addressing fuel poverty, language barriers, digital exclusion and unemployment. Through strong partnerships and targeted support, we continue to promote inclusion, empowerment and social and economic development.
