The Little Venice Film Festival CIC runs an inclusive and accessible film festival for everyone. The company began operating in 2023. During the 2024–2025 financial year, the festival benefited the community in the following ways: - Hosted a day of film screenings focused on the stories of people with disabilities, with sign language interpretation and subtitles provided. - Delivered a free film screening for deaf and blind audiences at one of London’s top cinemas, with audio-description headsets, sign language interpretation, and subtitles available. - Enabled award winners to meet with executives from a major streaming platform to explore potential distribution deals for their films. - Offered free tickets to all festival screenings in Little Venice and Westminster, including our awards night, ensuring people of all economic backgrounds had access to the festival. - Featured Female Experience, LGBTQ+ Experience, Disability Experience, Mental Health Experience, and Class Experience categories to enhance the diversity of our filmmakers and support the submission of films exploring these themes. - Ran Student Showcase and National Kids categories and screenings to encourage young people - from age six upwards - to engage with filmmaking. - Hired three arts venues in the Little Venice area to host screenings, including one registered charity. - Celebrated female talent: 10 of our 14 awards were won by female filmmakers, with Best Film, Best Director, and Best Film by a Female Director all awarded to the same filmmaker. - Presented selected films during our awards night to an audience of industry professionals.
