Drops of Jupiter: In The Community CIC is a Liverpool-based not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting women and girls facing mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, loneliness, menopause, and feelings of disconnection. Founded by mother and daughter Louise and Sacha Daley, the CIC embodies the mission: “To heal ourselves, to heal our communities, to heal the world.” The organisation operates with core values centred on holistic well-being, sustainability, inclusivity, and community trust. During the financial year 2024/5, the CIC's activities have benefited the community in the following ways: In 2024, the CIC was awarded nearly £20,000 by The National Lottery Community Fund to launch the 'Her Mind Matters' initiative. This programme offers accredited mindfulness and meditation sessions aimed at women and girls dealing with mental health issues or seeking connection. The funding has enabled the expansion of sessions from 10 to 48 participants during the programme, whilst enhancing accessibility of participants by removing cost barriers. The CIC introduced a book club in March 2025, supported by a £500 donation from AMP Clean Energy. This initiative aims to foster social interaction and shared learning among participants. The club currently has 15 established members, helping to engage isolated members of the community by having a shared interest with others.. The organisation has seen increased volunteer participation, with 4 individuals now regularly contributing time and skills to support various programmes. This engagement has been instrumental in broadening the CIC's reach and impact within the community. The CIC has fostered ties with two local venues: a community hall and a training and education centre, increasing the reach of our community into other local ventures serving the wider community.
Our stakeholders are: Primary beneficiaries: Women and Girls in South Liverpool and their close families Company Directors Volunteers Creative facilitators and contributors Local community partners: Hale Village Hall; Speke Training and Education Centre Grant Funders and local business supporters: National Lottery Community Fund; AMP Clean Energy Social media supporters: Followers/Newsletter subscribers We regularly survey our community to find out what our women and girls need before making decisions on funding applications or expenditure. These surveys take place twice a year currently, with plans to increase that to three times per year as the company grows. Our main project in the first year of our company was a Mindfulness and Meditation Programme that our women and girls asked for during our first data gathering exercise. Overwhelmingly, almost 80% of stakeholders completing the survey asked for support with mental health, mindset and implementing strategies in everyday life. We responded by submitting an application for grant funding from the National Lottery Community Fund which was successful. Following our second survey, 15 of our stakeholders asked for a book club, to which we responded by securing £500 from a local Green Energy Company to provide books. In addition to this we gain insights from our Board of Directors at our quarterly meetings where we discuss local demographics and needs. All Directors have grown up in South Liverpool or have firm links to the area. We consult with our community partners, currently on an ad hoc basis, to glean intelligence about what their stakeholders are asking for, to identify joint requests that might help wider groups. This communication will become more structured as our community grows.
Three of our Directors receive remuneration within the remit of their expertise and are paid as consultants or facilitators. Louise Daley: Programme Development, Lead Facilitator, Evaluation and Data Analysis £5700 Sacha Daley: Support Facilitator and Marketing £2930 Matthew Williams: Finance Administration £880 There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
