AIM 2 CHANGE CIC

Directors' report period ended 31 January 2025

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 January 2025

Principal activities of the company

Director: Joe Frazer Burton Principal Activities of the Company AIM 2 Change CIC is a Community Interest Company established to improve the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of children, young people, and families within Lancashire. The organisation aims to achieve this through the delivery of structured holiday clubs, physical activity programmes, nutritional support, and community enrichment projects. During the financial year ending 31 January 2025, the company did not trade and did not deliver community activities. The period was dedicated to establishing the organisational foundations required for future service delivery. This included developing governance structures, safeguarding processes, operational planning, and forming partnerships with local authorities and community organisations. Although no income was received and no expenditure was incurred during this period, the company undertook preparatory work that enabled it to secure funding and initiate delivery immediately after year-end. Following the accounting period, AIM 2 Change CIC began delivering fully funded summer holiday programmes for over 120 families as part of the Lancashire County Council HAF Scheme, as well as contracts with Burnley Borough Council. The principal purpose of the company continues to be the provision of accessible, high-quality physical activity, nutrition-focused support, and enrichment opportunities to improve the health and wellbeing of children and communities across Burnley and Lancashire.

Company activities and impact

Explanation of Community Benefit for the Financial Year (1 Jan 2024 – 31 Jan 2025) During the financial year ending 31 January 2025, AIM 2 Change CIC did not carry out direct delivery of projects or receive funding, as the organisation was still in its developmental and setup phase. Although no community-facing activities took place within this accounting period, significant preparatory work was completed to enable future community benefit. This included: 1. Establishing partnerships to support future service delivery The CIC built relationships with local authorities and community organisations, including Lancashire County Council (HAF Programme) and Burnley Borough Council. These partnerships laid the foundation for delivering fully funded holiday clubs and community activity programmes after the financial year end. 2. Planning and designing programmes for children, young people, and families During the setup phase, the organisation developed structured holiday activity programmes aimed at improving young people’s physical and mental wellbeing. This planning work ensured the CIC was ready to launch high-quality, free activities for families in the summer of 2025. 3. Securing funding for future community benefit Although funds were not received until after the accounting period, successful applications and planning were completed within the year. This work directly enabled the CIC to deliver free holiday clubs to over 120 families in the following summer. 4. Laying the operational foundations of the CIC Governance, policies, safeguarding measures, and operational processes were developed during this period. These foundations ensure that when services began after July 2025, they were safe, compliant, and effectively delivered. Summary: Although AIM 2 Change CIC did not deliver activities during this accounting period, the organisation carried out essential development work, partnership building, and programme planning that enabled significant community benefit immediately after the year end. These foundations allowed the CIC to launch fully funded holiday clubs and community events from summer 2025, providing free nutritional, physical activity, and enrichment support to families across Burnley.
