Principal activities of the company

The principle activities of the Library were to provide accessible, enabling, educational, equipment to those who can benefit from its use. To operate the accessible resource lending library. To obtain charitable funds from fund givers to enable the operation of the lending library.

Company policy on disabled employees

The Accessible Resource Library places people who have disability at the heart of the work that we do. We are an inclusive community interest company.

Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 31 March 2025 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

Company activities and impact

The Accessible resource lending library has provided accessible toys, communication equipment and access equipment to Therapy teams that support children, young people and adults who have disability in the county of Kent. The loan of this equipment has enabled Therapists (Speech and Language and Occupational) to help those in society who have communication and physical access needs. Switch toys from the Library enable children who have disability to engage with play and developmental activities that they would other wise not be able to access. The library continues to be a valuable link in the chain, helping to enable people with disability to reach their potential.

Consultation with stakeholders

The Library has re engaged with key stakeholders: Ashford, Canterbury and Coastal locality, Community Adult Learning Disability Team, Kent Community Health Foundation Trust. and.. The Kent and Medway Communication and Assistive Technology Service (KM CAT) Children and young people's team. Both teams have equipment on loan from the Library.
