The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 March 2025

Principal activities of the company

(i) To advance the Christian religion for the benefit of the public in Wolverhampton and elsewhere ("hereinafter called the Area of Benefit"), in accordance with the Doctrinal statement attached at Schedule A (ii) the advancement of education, protection of health, relief of poverty, sickness and distress for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Area of Benefit The Church holds weekly services, as well as Bible Study and Prayer sessions. We also provide facilities for our partner charity, Bilston Resource Centre (BRC), who deliver education, training and employability support to local people.

Additional information

The Church continues to fulfil its objects. During this financial year Bilston Neighbourhood Church has hosted a number of conferences and events to connect leaders and churches together. Furthermore, the leadership continue to support other churches through the teaching of scripture and leading services at other churches supporting those, in particular that do not have church ministers. The Church has also been proactive in connecting with church congregations overseas, including India Punjab. The Church continues to host prayer meetings with leaders and build positive networks with other churches. There have been new people that have joined the church attending Sunday services and conferences organised, which have been successful. The Church continues to support persecution of Christians across the world through charitable organisations. The Church does not employ staff.

Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 31 March 2025 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

The directors have chosen not to file a copy of the company's profit and loss account.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Cashflow Statement Exemption has been taken from preparing a cashflow statement on the grounds that the company qualifies as a small company.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible fixed assets Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life : Fixtures, fittings & equipment - 25% per annum on the fixed instalment basis Property - 4 % per annum on the fixed instalment basis

    Other accounting policies

    Incoming Resources All incoming resources are included on the Statement of Financial Activities when the charity is legally entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy. Voluntary donations and gifts are accounted for as received. The charity receives help and support in the form of volunteer assistance in carrying out its objects. No entries are required to be included in the accounts for the financial value of such help. Resources Expended Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all the costs related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributable to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources. Taxation The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities Fund Accounting Unrestricted Funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees. Restricted funds can only be used for the particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when the funds are raised for a particular restricted purpose. Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the financial statements.
