Principal activities of the company

The principal activities of the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) are to support individuals and organisations to tackle society’s biggest challenges through social entrepreneurship. SSE achieves this by: Delivering learning programmes that equip people to start, scale, and strengthen organisations making a positive social or environmental impact. Providing grants and capacity-building support to social entrepreneurs and social enterprises, enabling them to develop leadership skills, grow their organisations, and increase their impact. Facilitating peer learning and network-building, creating opportunities for social entrepreneurs to learn from one another and build supportive communities. Influencing policy and practice within the social enterprise sector by sharing insights, convening sector leaders, and advocating for a more inclusive and resilient social economy. SSE’s activities are action-based, accessible, and designed to ignite entrepreneurship, accelerate social innovation, and harness networks to drive systemic change.

Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 31 March 2025 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.
