| 1. | STATUTORY INFORMATION |
| Four Corners Wine Company Limited is a |
| The principal place of business is The Old Armistice, 31-33 Hart Street, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, RG9 2AR. |
| 2. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
| Basis of preparing the financial statements |
| Turnover |
| Turnover represents the invoiced value of goods, net of value added tax. |
| The company recognises revenue when; the significant risks and rewards of ownership have been transferred to the buyer which is when the order is received and accepted, the amount of revenue can be measured reliably and it is probable that future economic benefits will flow to the company. |
| From time to time the company may also enter into the sale and purchase of wines which are still in the process of production, for a specific vintage which may not mature until after the balance sheet date. Turnover is recognised when the sales order is received and accepted as the risk passes to the buyer upon the order being accepted. |
| Tangible fixed assets |
| Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life. |
| Plant and machinery | - 25% on reducing balance, 25% straight line basis, |
| 33% straight line basis, 20% Straight line basis |
| Tangible fixed assets are stated at their historic cost price less accumulated depreciation. Historical cost includes expenditure that is directly attributable to bringing the asset to the location and condition necessary for use. The asset's residual values, useful lives and depreciation methods are reviewed if there is an indication of significant change since the last reporting date. |
| On disposal the difference between the net proceeds and carrying amount of the item sold is recognised in the profit and loss account, and included in administrative expenses. |
| Stocks |
| Stocks are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value, after making due allowance for obsolete and slow moving items. |
| Taxation |
| Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Statement of Income and Retained Earnings, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. |
| Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted. |
| Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. |

| Taxation |
| Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date. |
| Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference. |
| Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits. |
| Hire purchase and leasing commitments |
| Assets obtained under hire purchase contracts or finance leases are capitalised in the balance sheet. Those held under hire purchase contracts are depreciated over their estimated useful lives. Those held under finance leases are depreciated over their estimated useful lives or the lease term, whichever is the shorter. |
| The interest element of these obligations is charged to profit or loss over the relevant period. The capital element of the future payments is treated as a liability. |
| Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits |
| The company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the company's pension scheme are charged to profit or loss in the period to which they relate. |
| Financial instruments |
| Financial instruments are classified by directors as basic or non-basic following the conditions on FRS 102 Section 11. Basic financial instruments are initially measured at transaction price (including transaction cost) and subsequently recognised at amortised cost using the effective interest method. The company does not have any non-basic financial instruments. |
| Foreign currencies |
| Assets and liabilities in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange ruling at the balance sheet date. Transactions in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rate of exchange ruling at the date of transaction. Exchange differences are taken to the profit and loss account. |

| 10. | DIRECTOR'S ADVANCES, CREDITS AND GUARANTEES |
| During the year advances of £116,876 were made to the director and repayments of £107,073 received by the company. At the year end, the director owed the company £300,547 (2023: £290,744). Interest is charged on amounts overdrawn at the official HMRC rate for beneficial loan arrangements. Amounts overdrawn by the directors are repayable upon demand. |
