COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

INCUBATING ARTS CIC

Company Number: 11864707 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 March 2025

Company activities and impact

Community development and consultation began for WOVEN 2025, with a theme of “Connecting Culture,” reflecting the festival’s role in bringing communities together through the universal language of textiles. The project secured funding from Arts Council England (ACE) to enhance community activity in Kirklees for WOVEN 2025, enabling the festival to launch three ACE-funded local hub community projects as part of the 2025 festival, in partnership with Chestnut Centre in Deighton, Birkby and Fartown Library and Ravensthorpe Community Centre. These collaborations are supported by mental health and wellbeing charity S2R Create Space and Kirklees Libraries with the aim to empower communities to develop their own WOVEN festival experiences and generate ideas that reflect unique cultural identities and aspirations. We supported Capital of Cycling in Bradford with fundraising and community development for a project funded by Bradford 2025 UK Capital of Culture, through their Creative Communities fund, called On Yer Bike. Artists began working with three cycling groups in Buttershaw, West Bowling and Keighley to tell cycling stories from under-represented groups, building to a showcase moment in autumn 2025. Art Doctors were commissioned by Bradford Producing Hub to deliver sessions with the Bradford creative community on developing playfulness in creative projects, and on overcoming creative blocks.
