Company activities and impact

The Romanian Cultural Centre C.I.C. fulfilled its mandate to advance the education and cultural integration of the Romanian community in the UK. All revenue was reinvested into community services. 1. Program Delivery and Geographic Expansion Geographic Expansion: The Company achieved a significant milestone by opening new, regular folk dance classes in Newcastle, serving a new cohort of the Romanian community outside the Coventry/Warwickshire area. Educational Development: We maintained weekly Romanian folk dance classes for the 'Tezaur' children's group in Coventry. Our teaching capacity was professionally strengthened by the recruitment of two new Romanian dance teachers from Canada. Community Cohesion: We provided specialised folk dance instruction directly to members of the RUDA association (Romani Uniti in Diaspora), focusing on internal cultural cohesion. 2. Major Events and Collaboration National Visibility Event: We organised and executed the large-scale Romanian National Day event in Millenium Place, Coventry, attracting an estimated 250 attendees and significantly raising the profile of Romanian culture locally. Dual Martisor Events: We successfully hosted two distinct 1 March events (Martisor): One event in Coventry that included a structured collaboration session between children from our Tezaur group and the Romanian School DOR. A separate launch event in Newcastle that engaged the new community and saw 20 attendants participate. Cultural Partnerships: We contribute to the Romanian Dance Evening in Birmingham organised by RUDA and Alina Albu, showcasing cross-regional solidarity. Our teachers attended as Guest Instructors, animating the event and delivering Romanian folk dance classes throughout the evening to engage attendees. With the School DOR and other partners involved in cross-promotion and reciprocal support. 3. Compliance and Safeguarding Milestones Governance Achievement: We achieved a key compliance milestone by registering the organization to directly process Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, streamlining our safer recruitment process. Welfare Training: Mandatory training was delivered to all dance teachers in safeguarding and first aid, ensuring the safe and professional delivery of all children's programs.

Consultation with stakeholders

Example of Stakeholder Consultations The Company maintains an active consultation process to ensure its activities are responsive to community needs and to strengthen strategic partnerships. Stakeholder engagement is integral to the planning and execution of all major events and class schedules. Consultation Groups Consultation involves two main groups: Collaborators and Partners: Regular internal discussions are held with key organizational contacts (without naming specific individuals) and external partner bodies (e.g., the local diaspora association, the supplementary school) to coordinate joint events (e.g., the 1 March event, regional dance evenings) and ensure reciprocal support and promotional efforts. Direct Beneficiaries: We consult directly with parents of children attending the folk dance classes and members of the local community in the various operating areas (e.g., Coventry, Newcastle) to gather feedback on program logistics, scheduling, and to assess current cultural needs. Impact on Activities This consultation process directly informs the Company's strategic decisions, leading to actions such as the expansion to new classes in Newcastle, the scheduling of dance classes to meet parental demand, and tailoring the format and location of large-scale community events (like the National Day celebration) to ensure maximum relevance and participation.
