During the financial year, The Art Room Denby Dale CIC delivered a range of creative, educational, and wellbeing-focused activities that have directly supported members of the local community. We provided accessible art workshops, classes, and community projects aimed at improving confidence, reducing social isolation, and supporting positive mental health for people of all ages. Our low-cost and free sessions enabled individuals who might otherwise face financial barriers to take part in creative opportunities. We offered structured art programmes for children and young people, including those who are home-educated or experiencing challenges in mainstream school, helping them to build skills, express themselves, and improve emotional resilience. For adults, including older residents, carers, and those experiencing loneliness, we facilitated regular community art groups that created safe, welcoming spaces to connect with others and develop new creative skills. We also collaborated with local schools, charities, and community organisations to deliver outreach projects that strengthened community ties. Overall, our activities have supported improved wellbeing, increased social participation, and greater access to the arts within Denby Dale and surrounding areas. The feedback received from participants highlights increased confidence, reduced anxiety, and a stronger sense of belonging as key impacts of our work.
During the financial year, The Art Room Denby Dale CIC engaged with a range of stakeholders to ensure our activities continued to meet community needs. We gathered feedback from participants through informal conversations, end-of-session discussions, and optional feedback forms. This helped us understand what activities were most valued and where improvements could be made. Parents and carers were consulted regularly regarding children’s workshops and creative programmes, allowing us to tailor sessions to different age groups, learning styles, and wellbeing needs. We also maintained open communication with local schools, community groups, and partner organisations to ensure our services complemented existing provision in the area. In addition, we sought input from volunteers, tutors, and local artists who contribute to our activities. Their insights helped guide planning for future workshops, accessibility improvements, and community outreach. Overall, the feedback gathered from stakeholders directly influenced our programme design, helped us respond to emerging needs, and ensured that the CIC continues to deliver meaningful and accessible creative opportunities for the community.
During the financial year, total directors’ remuneration amounted to £4,000. This payment was primarily for leading and delivering the holiday club for children on free school meals, funded by Kirklees Council. No other benefits, bonuses, or payments were made to directors beyond this amount.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
