We have held an event to raise awareness of our aims within the community and raised a small amount of funds. We have applied to set up a Secondary School with sixth form and dedicated SEN unit. However, this application has been refused by the Government because of low numbers. We have held a Youth Engagement Event for young people to come and speak to us and discuss their opinions of local education. We have also had meetings with a local organisation CLIP who provide courses for young people who have failed their GCSE's. We have lobbied local councils and the Government and the Unitary Mayor to raise our profile and try to get the school established. again we are struggling to have our voices heard.
The only consultation was with local young people who voluntarily chose to come along to our open event and present their opinions on the provision (or lack of) secondary education locally.
