2Accounting Policies
Basis of measurement and preparation of accounts
The company hold service charge monies on trust for the leaseholders in accordance with Section 42 of the Landlord and Tenants Act 1987. These funds are not recognised as income of the company. Amounts received and held on behalf of leaseholders are included within cash at bank, with a corresponding liability recognised within Creditors: amounts falling due within one year.
During the year, service charge funds previously included within reserves were reclassified to Creditors: amounts falling due within one year. This has no impact on the company’s net assets.
