The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 December 2024

Principal activities of the company

The directors are responsible for preparing the Directors' Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulation. Company law requires the directors to prepare financial statements for each financial year. Under that law the directors have elected to prepare the financial statements in accordance with United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable law). Under company law the directors must not approve the financial statements unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company and of the profit or loss of the company for that period. In preparing these financial statements the directors are required to: Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; Make judgements and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent; - Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the company will continue in business. The directors are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the company and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. AFRIFASS CIC STATEMENT OF ACTIVITIES AND COMMUNITY BENEFIT During the reporting period, AFRIFASS CIC focused primarily on organisational development, capacity building, and preparation for the delivery of parenting, safeguarding and family-support programmes scheduled to commence in 2025. The company's activities were directed towards strengthening internal structures, engaging with community stakeholders, and laying the foundations for culturally responsive support for Black and other ethnic minority families across the Midlands. Activities Undertaken Recruitment and appointment of additional directors to strengthen governance, oversight, and strategic planning. Development of programme materials, session outlines, and workshop frameworks for the 2025 Parenting and Safeguarding Programme. Engagement with local authorities, churches, parent networks, and community groups to assess family-support needs within minority communities. Procurement of IT equipment, training materials, and organisational resources required for effective delivery of future community programmes. Renewal and establishment of essential compliance measures, including insurance, safeguarding documents, and digital infrastructure (website and communication systems). Participation in networking and partnership-building meetings to position the organisation within broader family-support and early-help networks.

Balance sheet statements

Company activities and impact

AFRIFASS CIC exists to support families, particularly Black and ethnic minority families, who experience cultural, social, and systemic barriers when navigating parenting, safeguarding, and statutory services. The preparatory work undertaken during this period directly contributes to improved community outcomes by: Enhancing organisational readiness to deliver structured parenting and safeguarding workshops from 2025 onwards. Building partnerships that ensure families have access to culturally appropriate advice, guidance, and early-help support. Strengthening internal governance, thereby ensuring that services are delivered safely, sustainably, and in line with community needs and statutory expectations. Laying the foundations for programmes designed to increase parental confidence, improve understanding of UK safeguarding systems, and promote safer family environments. Although the majority of direct programme delivery will commence in 2025, the groundwork completed in 2023–2024 ensures that AFRIFASS CIC can provide high-quality, culturally sensitive support that benefits families who are often underrepresented in mainstream
