During the financial year, Hanad's House has delivered short breaks services, respite activities and tailored support (including advocating) for children with SEND needs and their families. Our work has benefited the community in several key ways: Children with SEND needs have accessed safe, structured activities that support social skills, emotional regulation and confidence. Parents and carers have received essential respite, helping them manage caring responsibilities and reduce stress, stabilising family routines, and improving long-term wellbeing for whole households. Families have been signposted to local services that supports them and their children. Families have also been supported through individual meetings, tailored planning, targeted interventions and ongoing communications to ensure that each child receives personalised support appropriate to their needs. The service has created accessible local opportunities for families who face barriers accessing mainstream support, and reducing isolation for the families who often face barriers accessing services. We have provided employment and upskilled local staff and strengthened partnerships with Sheffield City Council, schools and community organisations.
The company’s stakeholders include children with SEND who access our short break services, their parents, carers, local schools, the wider community and the local authority. Throughout the year, we’re have engaged with these stake holders to ensure that our services remains responsive to the needs of SEND Children and their families. Parents and carers are regularly consulted with, starting with admission meetings, ongoing reviews, informal conversations at drop-off and collection, and feedback forms. Their feedback has helped us to adjust our session structures, include targeted interventions, tailor support plans and adapt activities to better meet individual needs. Staff also provide continuous professional input on the suitability of activities, safety considerations and environmental improvements. We liaise with Sheffield City Council and local schools to discuss emerging needs within the community and individual support for children. These consultations ensure that we are developing our services using up-to-date and relevant date. Overall, stakeholder feedback has directly influenced the development of our service, ensuring that Hanad’s House C.I.C. Continues to provide safe, meaningful and family-centred support for children with SEND.
