The Federation of Family Practices Down C.I.C. has now completed their eleventh period of accounts. It has achieved area-wide coverage, providing support to all practices within the Down area, and has received funding from the Strategic Planning and Performance Group (SPPG). Support of the practices enables the Federation to have a united voice in pushing forward schemes and to obtain further funding which improve training and education of our staff that ultimately will be for the benefit of our patients in the community. SPPG funding has been received for delivery of pharmacy, nurse practitioner services and mental health practitioners in general practice. The projects fundamentally benefit patient care in the community. The Federation has implemented and continues to support multi-disciplinary teams in the 13 practices that exist there. The Federation provides services to over half a million patients and now has a full MDT rollout, including: General Practice Pharmacists Advanced Nurse Practitioners Mental Health Practitioners Physiotherapists Social Workers and Social Work Assistants Patients across Down have experienced significant benefits from the introduction of multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) in primary care. These additional services have helped to reduce pressure on secondary care while ensuring that vital support for mental health, physiotherapy, and social work is easily accessible within the local community
The stakeholders are the members and their associated general practice surgeries. They hold regular board meetings where the members are informed of all activities and will be consulted on other matters before any major decision has been made.
The accounts detail directors’ remuneration in the year of £118,086. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
