COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

WHITEHEAD SPORTS AND SOCIAL CLUB CIC

Company Number: 13206213 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 March 2025

Company activities and impact

In the financial year, we have continued to provide a wide range of services and facilities aimed at promoting community engagement and wellbeing. As a sport and social club, we offer facilities for rugby, football, archery, and bowling, catering for both sexes, diverse age groups, and varying skill levels. This allows us to support individuals from various demographics, encouraging both physical activity and social connections. Beyond sports, we also provide a welcoming social setting for private functions, including weddings, birthday parties, and other celebrations. This enables the local community to host important events in a convenient and enjoyable environment. In addition, we host bingo nights as a community event, offering an inclusive and enjoyable activity that fosters social interaction for older and younger members. Some of the proceeds from these events, along with other fundraising activities, are donated to local charities, reinforcing our commitment to supporting meaningful causes. Moreover, our company remains committed to giving back to the community by supporting charity fundraising efforts. We offer our facilities to local charities, allowing them to organise events that raise both money and awareness for their causes. This strengthens our role in promoting social responsibility and contributing to the betterment of the community.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders include members of the sport and social club, participants in various sport, as well as individuals and organisations who use our facilities for private functions and parties. We also include local charities that benefit from our support in fundraising activities. We employ several methods of communication, keeping stakeholders informed by regularly reporting events and updates through social media channels and within the sections of the club. This allows us to maintain open lines of communication and ensure that all parties are kept up to date with club activities. We also invite stakeholders to participate in our bi-monthly committee meetings, with the opportunity to contribute to decision-making processes and provide valuable input on the direction of the club. Furthermore, our AGM serves as a key platform for engagement, where we present a comprehensive overview of the club’s activities, including financial information, and actively seek feedback from members on various aspects of the club’s operations. Based on feedback received during these consultations, we have made adjustments to our facilities and services to better meet the needs of our diverse stakeholders. For example, we have tailored our social event offerings to ensure a wider appeal across different demographics and have worked closely with charities to optimise fundraising events.
