Despite a temporary slowdown in our regular programming, Tinker Studios successfully delivered on its core community objects through impactful partnerships with two nationally significant cultural institutions: The Design Museum and Green Man Festival. The company designed and facilitated a series of hands-on, creative workshops and events that focused on digital literacy & creativity. These activities directly benefited the community by: Skill Development: Fostering practical STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths) skills and encouraging creative confidence among participants of all ages. Public Engagement: Raising awareness of the positive role of creative technology in community contexts through highly visible, public platforms. The number of unique participants engaged across all partnership events exceeded 100 young people
Green Man Festival Feedback and Action: Feedback specific to the Green Man Festival workshops indicated that while the event was generally well-run and positively received, there was room for improvement in the technical setup and organisation of the workspace. Action Taken: In response, TINKER STUDIOS CIC has allocated resources to develop standardised, modular technical kits and clear instructional protocols for deployment at remote, outdoor events. This ensures that future installations are cleaner, more efficient to run, and maintain a high standard of professional delivery, thereby enhancing the overall experience for participants.
Yes, the directors' remuneration is commensurate with their responsibilities. The small amount paid reflected the essential executive and administrative duties required to deliver the partnered workshops and maintain statutory compliance, and was kept at a minimal level relative to the CIC's very low turnover for the period. This amounted to £1775, which was commensurate with the work engaged in over that period.
