Company activities and impact

The company offers a free and low cost mediation service to the local community with particular emphasis on supporting those who require mediation and are also subject to social care intervention and support. Local residents who would not normally be able to fund mediation have been offered mediation free of charge when referred by a Luton social care worker. Referrals have revolved around reducing parental conflict and also conflict between young people and parents. The aim has been to support local families to live together more harmoniously and also engage more productively in support they require from children's social care. In addition, we have been offering free or low cost MIAM's to those experiencing divorce and seperation in the community to enable them to access mediation and attempt to resolve difficulties to separate well.

Consultation with stakeholders

Discussions are ongoing with Luton Borough Council Children's services department about how best to offer mediation. There is a need for mediation between parents and young people and this has been facilitated by the service. Residents like the offer of both in person and online mediation and the service continues to offer this (feedback forms)
