During this financial year, Today’s Africa CIC supported the community through sexual health outreach activities. The organisation provided culturally sensitive information, one-to-one conversations, community education sessions and advice to help people understand sexual health in a clearer and safer way. These activities reached members of the African and diaspora communities who often face barriers when trying to access mainstream health services. The support offered by the CIC helped increase awareness, reduce stigma and encourage people to seek medical advice earlier. It also improved confidence in using NHS services and created a safe space for individuals to ask questions and receive guidance without judgment. As a result, the community benefited through better knowledge, improved wellbeing and stronger trust in local health support.
The stakeholders of Today’s Africa CIC include community members, participants in our outreach programmes, volunteers and partner health organisations. During the financial year, the CIC engaged with stakeholders through informal conversations at events, feedback discussions during outreach sessions and direct communication with partner organisations. Stakeholders were asked about their needs, the relevance of the information provided and any barriers they experienced when accessing health support. Feedback collected during these consultations helped the CIC adjust the content of its outreach sessions, improve the way information was delivered and ensure that the support remained culturally sensitive and easy to understand. This consultation process allowed the organisation to respond to community needs and provide services that were accessible and effective.
