  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is recognised at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable for services provided in the normal course of business, and is shown net of VAT and other sales related taxes.

    Other accounting policies

    Cash and cash equivalents Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, deposits held at call with banks, other short-term liquid investments with original maturities of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown within borrowings in current liabilities. Financial instruments Financial instruments are measured at amortised cost. The Company has no other financial instruments or basic financial instruments measured at fair value. Equity instruments Equity instruments issued by the company are recorded at the proceeds received, net of direct issue costs. Dividends payable on equity instruments are recognised as liabilities once they are no longer at the discretion of the company. There is no liability to current or deferred taxation as the company makes a Gift Aid donation to its parent undertaking of £nil. Going Concern The Directors of St Peter’s College Conference and Events Limited have a reasonable expectation that the company has sufficient resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. The directors have received confirmation from the parent charity, that should it be required, financial support will be offered to ensure the company can meet its liabilities as they fall due for a period of at least 12 months from the approval of these financial statements. For this reason it continues to adopt the Going Concern basis of accounting policies in preparing the annual financial statements.
