Company activities and impact

Youth Battersea CIC has been working with the youth organisations in the local area of Battersea to provide a network for: - Information sharing -Sharing opportunities -Championing the youth organisations and the young people of Battersea -Offering training opportunities -Networking opportunities We have hosted the first Designated Lead Training designed for the Youth Workers working in the local area and borough in conjunction with Wandsworth Council, ensuring consistency and understanding of the processes in Wandsworth. Additionally we ran 2 Emergency First Aid at Work sessions for the youth organisations. This helps ensure that all the organisations have a DSL and qualified first aider. Youth Battersea gathers insights from the young people and youth workers to find opportunities that can be shared with groups and individuals providing opportunities and experiences. Working with local businesses and the local authority we help to support the youth organisations and champion the work that they do.

Consultation with stakeholders

We have worked with a number of the stakeholders during this period: Youth Organisations - Hosting and chairing regular Advisory board meetings and youth worker group meetings to address challenges, explore solutions and create opportunities. Youth - We have run workshops to find out about the views of the local young people along with gathering data from surveys and questionnaires. Case studies have been provided by the individual organisations Local Council - Working with Children's Services to explore the form that working together should take and barriers and challenges to success Local Businesses - We have worked with local businesses to find opportunities for supporting the young people of the local area, mainly in the form or future employment opportunities and work experience. We have approached organisations to offer services, tickets and discounts for the youth organisations and their members. Schools - Speaking to the schools and exploring collaboration and better ways of working to support the young people that currently attend the youth organisations and the ones that could attend in the future. To also look at supporting some of the students through mentoring or becoming the trusted adult for the student.
