Principal activities of the company

The principal activity of the company during the financial year was the delivery of creative workshops to youth organisations and charitable groups across London. The company provides photography sessions and arts education programmes designed to inspire, educate, and build confidence among young people in the city. These workshops support the development of creative skills, self-expression, and personal growth, and are delivered in partnership with a range of London-based youth services and community charities. All activities were carried out in line with the company’s community interest objectives and for the benefit of young people in the London community.

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover represents income from grants and workshop fees. Income is recognized when the company has received the payment or earned the right to it. Any payments received in advance for services to be provided in the future are recorded as deferred income until the services are delivered.

Company activities and impact

This company works with youth organisations and charities to teach young people analogue photographic practices. This company started working in June 2024. During the financial year of 2024 - 2025 this company benefited the community in the following ways. Different Gravy Studio CIC has worked with 10 youth providers across London and has supported hundreds of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. In the Summer of 2024, this company worked with a youth charity called Young Camden Foundation to deliver creative workshops for the children and made a film to show the importance of youth work. This project delivered free workshops to over 100 young people. This company also worked and volunteered regularly at a youth club called ARC from 2024 to 2025. Different Gravy Studio CIC worked on a long-term project with the youth club, teaching the young people how to use medium format and Super 8 cameras to document their community. We used the TRA hall in the estate to exhibit the young people's photographs, and projected a film they made. The Mayor of Camden attended and praised the young participants. This project delivered free workshops and supported over 30 young people. This company also worked in collaboration with South London Gallery to teach photography skills to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in Southwark. This project delivered free workshops to over 30 people.

Consultation with stakeholders

This companies stakeholders are the charities and community groups that we work with and deliver workshops for and the residents and local people who participate. Before under taking any project we always meet with the community youth leaders and representatives from organisations to find out how our workshops can best serve the community and provide the educational needs to the young people we reach. We make sure parents and guardians are always consulted whenever we are working in the community and give out consent consent forms for all of our participants.
