During the financial year, the Workers' Policy Project has benefited the community in the following ways: Workers experiencing workplace sexual harassment have been able to connect with others who share their experiences through our survivor engagement work, reducing isolation and building collective understanding of workplace challenges Communities of precarious workers, migrant workers, and gig economy workers have developed stronger relationships and mutual support through our bimonthly worker online Workers across various sectors have gained increased understanding of their statutory rights through content covering holiday entitlement, sick pay, pensions, and procedures for accessing support Workplaces have been able to access free resources on preventing and addressing workplace sexual harassment, supporting employers and employees in creating safer working environments Workers who face barriers to traditional union or workplace representation have been able to participate in collective discussion and education about their rights, particularly those in precarious, gig economy, or migrant worker positions where workplace relationships are difficult to establish The broader community has benefited from increased awareness of workplace rights issues through our printed materials and online resources, ensuring workers understand their entitlements and available support when rights are denied
During the financial year, the Workers' Policy Project CIC consulted with stakeholders to ensure our activities meet community needs and deliver public benefit: Community Beneficiaries - Workers Experiencing Harassment We consulted directly with survivors of workplace sexual harassment to understand their needs and experiences. This consultation informed our free resources, educational materials, and campaign priorities, ensuring our work addresses real barriers workers face in accessing justice and support. Community Beneficiaries - Precarious and Migrant Workers Through our bimonthly meetings and direct engagement, we consulted with precarious workers, migrant workers, and gig economy workers to identify gaps in workplace rights awareness and access to support. This shaped our educational program content and delivery methods. Policy and Safety Organisations We consulted with the Suzy Lamplugh Trust and other workplace safety advocates to develop evidence-based approaches to harassment prevention that serve community needs. These consultations ensured our activities remained focused on community benefit and responsive to the needs of workers who lack access to traditional workplace support structures.
