During the financial year, Antrim School of Music CIC delivered a range of music-based educational, cultural, and wellbeing activities that generated substantial public benefit across the Antrim and wider Northern Ireland community. As a Community Interest Company, the organisation remained fully committed to its social purpose of widening access to high-quality music education, promoting community cohesion, and supporting local people to develop creative, social, and personal skills through participation in music. Widening Access to Music Education The organisation provided affordable and, in many cases, subsidised music tuition to children, young people, and adults who may otherwise have been unable to access such opportunities due to cost, transport limitations, or social circumstances. Reduced-rate places and financial assistance were offered to families on low incomes, ensuring that music education remained inclusive and accessible. Supporting Youth Development and Wellbeing Through structured lessons, group sessions, and performance programmes, the organisation supported the personal development of young people by building confidence, improving communication skills, and fostering discipline, teamwork, and resilience. Parents consistently reported improved self-esteem and increased engagement in school and extracurricular activities. Community Engagement and Social Inclusion The CIC facilitated a range of community-based workshops, seasonal events, ensemble opportunities, and outreach activities that brought together participants of all ages and backgrounds. These initiatives played a meaningful role in reducing social isolation, encouraging positive community interaction, and creating accessible cultural experiences within the local area. Partnership and Collaborative Working The organisation continued to collaborate with schools, community groups, churches, youth organisations, and local charities to deliver joint programmes, support community events, and extend access to individuals who may not otherwise engage with music education.
