Current asset investments comprise listed equity securities held for trading.
Current asset investments are recognised initially at fair value, which is normally the transaction price, excluding transaction costs. Transaction costs are expensed to profit or loss as incurred.
Subsequently, listed investments are measured at fair value at each reporting date, with changes in fair value recognised in the profit and loss account. Fair value is based on the quoted bid price at the close of business on the reporting date for instruments traded in an active market.
Income from investments, including dividends, is recognised in the profit and loss account when the right to receive payment is established.
