The Worcestershire Literary Festival CIC works in the community providing FREE access to poetry, spoken word, music, comedy and dance with many partner organisations and collaborators, we have delivered an annual week of festival for the 15 years we have been in existence and make ALL events free at the point of access. We run regular monthly open mic events both live and via zoom and attract audiences but local, national and international, we are driven to ensure access is available to all who attend and take part, wheelchair access is always a priority so no-one is left out. We run three annual competitions for young writers, short story - Flash Fiction - writers and the Worcestershire Poet Laureate post which is a now iconic role for the winner in the community as the WPL works with civic bodies such as opening county council meetings, working with the Mayoral office as well as working in schools, universities, the Cathedral, the city libraries and other organisations. We offer prizes to all finalists and winners including trophies, certificates, cash and the opportunity to be published in annual printed anthologies, we look to grow the organisation year on year and look forward to another exciting and bigger, better festival in 2026!
