Walk:Enabled has supported a number of charity partners with the following services: Organisation and action of activity events to support those with physical disabilities in becoming more active for health, or to better use the devices supplied to them. Advice on possible reviews needed for prosthetic provision or training Adapted exercise advice and sessions. Data collection and analysis to support future projects. Creation of medical information for children with lower limb disorders, that can be read with the child and parent/ carer. This was created with input and feedback from the community. Further we have created a new system to allow better inclusion of people with physical disabilities in activity sessions and have begun sharing this model with discussion groups. Walk:Enabled have also supported international projects including providing provision of physiotherapy and gait training to a small child from a Ghanian village, who was sent to the UK to receive support. Provision of support for those learning to walk or be physically active again after amputation or other movement impairment, with intervention and online support.
Our stakeholders are: -Those with lived experience of limb difference or movement limitations and their carers, parents, or families. - Charities and national bodies who work to support these individuals - Health care professionals who support these individuals - The research community working in this field W:E work is primarily stimulated by request or research in the community. We have used focus groups, surveys, and general call out in community groups to interact with our community. For example, the creation of medical information is done in consultation with the community
